Haven't had a tuna melt in years. A good one, anyway. So, you must live close by?

I... travel a lot, but I keep an apartment nearby.

My traveling is limited to the state of California. And Chicago, for holidays.

Live alone?

Very.

I have dogs. [So she has pets, but they're the extent of her companionship.]

Two. Marlowe and Spade. [Why, yes, she's a Humphrey Bogart fan. And a film noir fan, one could infer.]

Are the namesakes what I'd expect?

If you'd expect Philip Marlowe and Sam Spade, then yes. And if you're a fan, then lunch was a good idea.

Quite a bit. But usually non-fiction.

Sounds familiar. Biographies, memoirs, historical works. [And a few self-help books about being a good leader, but she's reticent about admitting to that.]
