Yesterday. The world is distinctly better off without the sort of person who would do such things to children, trust me. *Another casual bite.* It would not have been the first time, either, judging by the news lately.
He would have almost certainly have got the death penalty if caught, and this way I get lunch.
People like this always keep notes on their findings. Wasn't every death in the camps recorded?
Search his office, the records should be there. *He smiles ferally.* And while you do that, I'll look in the basement. It's practically tradition to keep your horrors in the basement.
*he averts his eyes, because what can he even say to that? He knows he should tell you it's all wrong, but the man was torturing children. Why should he get his sympathy?* You should have gone to the police instead. Did you even try to practice any self control?
No. Of course not. I just... *he sighs, frustrated* I can't keep letting you do this. I know you've been a lot better, but... how am I supposed to keep watching you do this?
So don't watch. Tell yourself I just went shopping, it's not like you would eat it either way.
*He takes a nice big bite and smiles, looking satisfied.* He really is better like this. And even if he had been buried like you want, the worms would eat him eventually. Which is such a waste, in a world where people are starving on the streets.
*he grits his teeth, just glaring at you angrily for a long moment. Your logic is just so logical and it annoys the hell out of him, when he knows there's a dead body on your plate* You're... god. I hate you. *he turns on his heels and goes to do anything that'll take his mind off of what you're doing in the kitchen*
You hate that I have a point. *He smiles indulgently as you retreat, and once he finishes his meal he goes to watch the news.
*He is quite pleased to see that the police have found his message to them--the man's head and hands, and 'child killer' written in blood. He is even more pleased that they too found evidence for the man being exactly that. The vapid news anchor is looking slightly more happy than usual that something horrible has occurred, which proves yet again that the sheeple of the world really do like seeing bad things happen to bad people.*
*he's in his roommates room, but he can hear the news through the door. He knows you're listening to the report about that man you killed. He can hear how glad some of the people are about it, and how completely disturbed the rest are.
He thinks he's a little bit of both and he wonders if that's okay. He closes his notebook and heads out to the living room, glancing at the TV*
If we lived in a better world this would be a horrible thing to do. But in a better world I would not need or want to.
In the world we have got, it was saving lives and I enjoyed it. *He smiles a creepy little smile.* If there is a next world, I am sure that it is better. And if it isn't then I will change that, just as I do this.
It might be of interest that this child seems remarkably undeterred at the sight of a dead body, merely seeming to watch it as if expecting it to move. "What did he do to deserve it?"
It seems faintly illogical to let someone hurt you with no repercussions, though Sinthia has less room to talk about that subject than she'd like. "What are you going to do with the body?"
Fear. Of him, of being caught, of being capable of such a thing.
*She doesn't seem to care that the man is dead, and he is a good judge of such things. Not to mention that she has seen enough already.* I do believe I'll eat it.
For a moment she doesn't reply, and then simply makes a thoughtful hum. Fear is an emotion she really doesn't have the best grasp of, not that she's much exposed to frightening things at this juncture in life. On the other hand, fear of being capable of such brutality is something she does occasionally struggle with. Not usually for long, but still.
"Do you think he would taste good?" Because obviously there's no point to eating people--or anything else--if it doesn't taste good. "I can help you move him if you need me to."
For any other child this would be an absolutely ludicrous suggestion, but telekinesis has its advantages.
