"You look like you've been working a lot of it," Patrick says reaching over her shoulder and adjusting a wire, "you almost switched those wires....twice."

"Really, I'll be fine where I'm at," Tosh says, as she looks down at the small device that's in her hand. "I meant to do that?" She looks up at Patrick with a tired smile on her face. "I'll be fine really."

Patrick chuckles slightly. "You don't look fine," he says, "and with what you have to work with I doubt you want to blow yourself up. You really shouldn't be working with a scanner like that when you aren't sharp."

The new setting is helping a great deal. :> Opted to go S1 with Tosh... Never was fond of S2..

"I look as, fine as anyone who's missing a hot shower." Tosh doesn't seem to want to give the scanner up. "I just have a little bit more to do, and then I'll turn myself in."

"I could finish it," Patrick offers, "and keep watch while you sleep, the motherboard in the scanner is fine it just needs to be rewired and it looks like that wouldn't take me more then an hour if you have enough good wires."

"I'll save it for tomorrow, it's not as if it will grow wings and walk away." Toshiko seems reluctant to give up her work, and sure she can use a night's sleep. The yawn that escapes her mouth is proof of that. "I'll have to dig through storage to see what can be found. I'm trying to see about getting some type of computer server together, and making some new software shouldn't be all that hard."

"How are you going to handle the server issue, most of them are down right now. Plus there isn't internet service anymore. I mean we could bounce a signal off the phone lines but there aren't many of those left either.

Besides the first thing you should be worrying about is that water purifier it's about twenty years old."

"I was thinking maybe something wireless, if we can just keep the server centralized to us." Toshiko stops in her tracks when Patrick mentions the water purifier. "I thought Stark was going to take care of that."

"This was just one of those side projects, and you're right.." And, she tosses the old motherboard onto the table in front of her with a defeated sigh. "I'll take a look at the purifier tomorrow morning."

"That's dangerous these days," Patrick says grabbing some tools giving her a view of his scarred hands. "It's really easy to listen in on a server with the right tools.

He heads over to the water purifier and starts working on it. "Get some sleep. This looks simple, some frayed wiring and it looks like the tank has a leak. I can have this done by the time you wake up."

"I know, but..." Toshiko stops herself, and she leans back against the old leather chair she found. "It would make things a little easier, but the last thing we need is for someone to discover us."

She slowly gets up, Tosh never set a room up for herself in that cold old prison. The old carrier they made their own was good enough. "It's just a matter of keeping things working for long."

"I might be able to work up a tin can sort of thing, but I have really have had time to dumpster dive yet...heck I haven't even introduced myself yet. Patrick Logan."

"I wouldn't go bin diving alone, once I get a good night's sleep we can go together. I don't think Jack would be happy if we got ourselves lost or killed," Toshiko wants to get out there, she wants to contribute, and missions like these are typical Torchwood, kinda.

She smiles, and she offers out a hand. "Dr. Toshiko Sato. I suppose, the doctor part doesn't exactly matter these days."

"It's sweet you're worried about me but I've been moving from city to city for a long time," Patrick says, "I can take care of myself."

"Everyone counts, so we should be looking out for one another. I've been through worse, so I'll come with you!" Toshiko's enthusiasm for the field shows, as her face seems to light up at the idea. "You won't have to worry about me."

Patrick grins from around the water tank happy to have finally found someone who enjoys making things out of nothing. "Maybe you can help me find some parts for the wind energy system I've been working on."
