{She'll flinch at first unsure with what Tara is going to do next but her body soon relaxes when Lyla feels Tara's hand against hers. Relaxing into Tara she's able to calm down enough to take a proper grasp of the gun.}
[When she feels Lyla relax there is the faintest of smiles falling over the woman's lips. Tara knew that Lyla should have been taught how to use a gun long before this moment but, with the way shit kept piling up around the club there hadn't been time.]
Alright, just gently squeeze the trigger.
[Her gaze falls over Lyla's shoulder and onto the target hanging several feet from them.]
{Listening intently to instructions, Lyla took a deep breath and followed through, imagining the target as the men who had attacked her. The sheer shrill of it brought a glow to her features as she watched the bullet enter the target.}
[She catches that glow that suddenly lights up Lyla's features the moment she pulls the trigger, the bullet tearing through the paper target with ease.]
{Lyla involuntarily drops the gun from her hands, a scowl plastered to her face as she recoils from Tara's touch.} No! All of this was no fault but my own, if I had just listened and took the help.
{Wiping at the tears that threatened to fall she tugged at her hair.} I'm so damn stupid.
[Her hand comes out quickly to catch the gun before it can hit the ground. Tara is quick to put the safety on it while Lyla recoils from her touch.] Lyla...
[Setting the gun down on the hood of the car, she gives her friend a stern look.] You're trying to raise three kids on your own, you didn't think....[Things would go that far, but the words go unsaid.]
{Lyla is just thankful that Tara is there, offering her friendship, in total honesty it was something she thought they would never have. Thank you for being here. {Once again her head comes to rest on Tara's shoulder.}

[With a gentle pull back she helps Lyla to relax her arms just a tiny bit and keep her steady.]

{The smile slowly slips, being replaced with a distraught frown on her features.}

I know. [She slides a comforting arm around the other woman's waist with a sigh.]

They've taken everything... {Lyla finds herself moving to slide down the car, bringing her knees to her chest.}

Right now though, she wasn't doing the best job at it. Too much on her own mind. Moving over to the car she slid down it and came to sit beside Lyla.]
Shit'll get better. I know we all say it at some point but, it has to.
