[Sam could smell the blood but by the time he got there it was nothing but a wreck of what seemed to be a transport container. Half of it was on it's side, gas leaking across the road.
That's when he saw her.]
Hey! [Running over, he saw a survivor moving towards the clear. Nothing but dead bodies behind.
The smell of blood was more intoxicating than he thought but Sam stayed focus and ran towards her.]
[She heard the voice and frowned.] Don't come near me, dangerous.
[Most people would stay away with that, or at least wait until the hazmat suits arrived right.] My team?
[She hadn't thought to look for them. Blame it on the pain going through her side. Biting down on her lip was the only thing that kept her from screaming as "Little Brother" as she fondly referred to her dad's last gift to her, repaired the cut in her side]
[She would have complained more and pulled away if she was able to think more clearly.]
No, I don't think so... [If there were they'd be working their way to a place to hide and heal. Luckily they hadn't picked up the cargo to transport yet to the new facility.]
[She cried out clutching her side more. Always hurt like hell regrowing parts of her insides. Muscle tissue was a faint itch, but inner organs felt like being stabbed with 60 large gauge needles at once]
[When she was picked up she yelped wanting to fight him, but he was already moving from the van. When it exploded they were actually far enough away that it was just smaller debris that fell.]
[The smell of blood had caused his eyes to shine the brightest of blue. His fangs were out without realizing so when Sam placed her carefully on the ground and looked into her eyes to make sure she was alright. It wouldn't take a genius to see he wasn't human.]
[He flicked his tongue over his teeth nearly slicing it and confirmed what he thought. His fangs in full length had slid down. He knew this meant his eyes had changed.]
I'm a vampire. [Funny how he wasn't used to saying that.]
I was nearby when I smelt all the blood.
I won't hurt you but if you won't let me get you help we're going to have to take you some place safe.
[She was still tense, the mending wounds keeping her from scrambling back.]
I need a phone, call my boss tell him what happened, but I do that they'll send a cleaner team... [He had helped her so far, so she figured she may as well warn him about that.] Do you know a place? preferably no people...
[She was silent a moment but nodded accepting the phone.]
Probably not... I burn calories fast, hard for me to keep on weight. [the doctors had complained about that, but really how much more do they expect her to eat when she's always snacking!]
When I make this call they'll come to get me. [She was debating her chances. Getting stuck back at HQ until they were sure she was okay, or steal a chance to find Claire and Leon... The fingers danced over the phone, the message was short to Leon.
"Am safe for now, sorry about the mess SB"]
I'll wait to call them until I can talk without risk of screaming in pain.
[Cars started to turn up. They should have known the explosion would have caused attention. Sam stayed calm looked over at the road.]
Wait here.
[As the man got out his car and asked Sam what happened, Sam calmly walked over and played along until he was close enough to knock the guy out. Sam tried to hit him lightly but forgetting his strength, heard the mans jaw crack.
Sadly it needed to happen. Fetching the girl he loaded her in the side of the now unconscious mans car and went in the drivers side.]
It won't be long before this place draws more attention. [And with that he hit the gas and headed for the garage. ]
[She knows it's going to take her at least two more hours until she's healed. When Sam leaves her side she actually slips out of consciousness.
By the time he's nearing the garage she's starting to come around again. Blue eyes scan the area, though she winces whenever they pass under a street light, the light hurts.] It will pass... [She's stubborn and doesn't want to tell him how bad she's hurt, since it's starting to be a moot point.]
There's a loaded question... How much do you care about drinking laws? because right now if you have anything strong enough to numb the pain I'll be good in a few hours.
He'd seen the smoke from far away and thought it was a fire. Silver had been in good form, galloping towards the signs of danger as he urged him on. His hoofbeats could be heard as he approached.
The masked ranger quickly dismounted to come help the injured girl. "Ma'am...miss, are you alright?"
"I will be. I think..." She looks up and realizes the horse's head is closer than the speaker. There's a startled yelp as she scoots back a little, showing the cut in her side that's already starting to heal.]
He mistakes her yelp for his appearance. "Easy, ma'am, don't be alarmed. This mask is on the side of the law." His hands up to show he didn't mean her any harm.
"I'm here to help, if you'll let me," the ranger holding out a hand to help her to a nearby rock to sit down. He's already pulling off his neck bandana to use as a bandage. "Can you tell me what happened?"
She quirks a brow at him a moment but hey, she'll deal with it. "Not sure, I was in the back. man, my uncle's going to kill me because of this."
She hisses slightly applying pressure again. "I don't need a bandage. trust me better if you stay back a little." She's just hiding her skin and tissues knitting themselves back together.
"Stay back?" he asks, reluctant to do so. She was obviously injured and needing assistance. "If you think you can bear to ride, I can take you to the next town and find you a doctor." Silver, anticipating such a ride, has sidled up and stands in front of them, waiting for the Lone Ranger to help her onto the saddle.
There's a faint smirk at that answer, "No, ma'am." He can't just do nothing though so he pulls a canteen of water off the saddle, unscrewing the top and offering it to her.
She seemed like a brave girl, toughing out a wound to the side...though the ranger is now hard pressed to see where she might be bleeding from. Her hand's over the wound. "Do you mind if I take a look?"
