I was working on this device that is supposed to measure interdemensional harmonics... and strings. Have you heard of those? Fascinating things. Anyway, something went ploop and there went the United States.

Oh just fiddling around with interdemensional harmonics.

I found it in the TARDIS, one of the older rooms. I repaired it and noticed that it had a sort of...resonance with the strings and of course I had to see what it could do, because in theory interdemensional travel is supposed to be shut off. But then there's all these places out there where reality is thin enough that people can transfer realities. So, I figured I'd see if I could make the device measure such things and find those weak spots.

Of course! Though admittedly my knowledge of it isn't that complete. But experience is the best teacher they say.

I do get out more. I just have a lot of spare time on my hands.
