What do I have to gain from telling you to research any and all methods around Confessing Richard so you can sleep together?

[ Slightly taken aback, she just stares, wide-eyed. ]

Why does Richard's happiness mean anything to you? You would have made him your puppet had we not stopped you.

We all wish sometimes, Kahlan. I do it too.

Yes, but wishing seems to do so little in the long run.

In my experience, I've found wishing only causes more damage than it does good. Wishing can't do much without action behind it.

I know. But, wishing is important.

Well what are you wishing? Maybe we can put some action behind it.

Unfortunately, this isn't the kind of wish that needs action.

Those tend to be the most heartfelt.

The same wish I have, want...yes I can figure it out easy enough.

There are just times where I wish we could have what others do, but then I remember how important the mission is. That's something I could never jeopardize.

Maybe after this quest, after the world is saved again. I don't want to stop hoping, Kahlan.

Perhaps. I don't want to stop hoping either, Richard. But even then, after the world is saved, how long would it be before you're needed again?

I would already go to the end of the world for you Kahlan, I already would do anything for you. Confession won't change how I feel about you. And, how many times do we have to save the world before we're allowed a family?

You don't know what you're asking. Your will, your very soul would be destroyed. I love you far too much to let something like that happen. ~~No matter how much I want to.~~

When this quest is over, we'll find a way. There has to be something out there we missed. I won't give up on this.
