[He licks his lips]

I need to go down again.

I need to figure out why this is going on...and I need an architect to help me.

[She slowly shakes her head.] No. Not for this Dom.

She's poisoning you. She'll trap you and you'll be stuck in limbo forever.

[He looks at her, eyes wide. He clearly hasn't been sleeping well.]

Dom, this isn't good. I thought you settled everything when we saved Fischer from her. She made her choice and you made yours.

[He is fully aware of how crazy he sounds.]

I've seen her. twice. I keep spinning it and it keeps falling and I'm questioning everything I was taught and-

[he kicks at the ground in frustration] ...sorry.

[She looks down, not wanting to admit that she had seen Mal also and that it scared her half to death.] I don't know...I saw her. I spoke with her. I didn't want to tell you because...I don't know. I kept trying to tell her that she was just part of your subconscious, but she wouldn't believe me. She thought she was real.

[Slowly, she places her hand on his shoulder. Trying, in vain, to comfort him in some way.] It's okay Dom.

[Dom listens, and listens-and then- I saw her. I spoke with her. He puts a much heavier hand on her shoulder]

You did see her. So it's..I'm not-

[He can't bring himself to say it. Instead he sighs deeply, clearly relieved.]

[She's worried more than ever.] We're not out of the forest yet. If we have both seen her. And we know she's dead. That means we have to be dreaming. Right?

[By way of response he flips out his totem and watches it spin...and fall.]

...I'm a rational man Ariadne. I always have been. No matter what anyone says.

This is real.

[Does he sound desperate to believe it? Yes.]

[She watches his totem spin and fall. She doesn't want to believe that this is reality.]

I refuse to accept this is real. It doesn't add up. She died. You even ran away to Mexico to escape the police because they thought you killed her. If this is reality, she can't be here.

[He looks at her for a moment]

Totem's supposed to keep you focused. It's supposed to give you a grounding-like a wire that's attached to something to direct electrical current. If it doesn't work we may very well be trapped.

There are ways but I don't trust them. [He folds his hands] ...not here...

[She was reluctant. She thought this was reality, but what would happen after a kick? Was she just a projection from Dom's subconscious? Were the others projections also?]

You've always trusted your totem. I've trusted your totem. But now we're questioning everything so the only way to solve this is to trust something else.

[He closes his eyes before reaching for her hand again and letting go.]

[He offers her a rueful look]

The only other option is that I'm loosing my mind.

[She fights back tears.] Thanks...for a second...I thought maybe I wasn't.

Then I guess I'm losing my mind with you. I haven't heard the others say they've seen her. Maybe it's just the two of us.

[He sighs]

In which case, I apologize.

I promise, she wasn't always insane.

[He says it in a flat deadpan voice in the hope it will conceal the hurt he feels.]
