If you have fractures, then they need to be treated. [He was taking this well - but really, it sounded like some people he knew all too well.] Rib fractures can usually only be taped and let heal, though straining them is a way to have them break even more easily the next time. Fractures of arms and legs should be immobilised and no pressure should be put on them for at least six weeks. Your limbs don't currently seem to have any fractures - did all this happen in the past?
