Smash Mouth counts as classical music.

Oh shut up it so does not.

I'm not ready to admit that I'm old enough to have the Smash Mouth, Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, and other various nineties stars qualify as "Classic Rock".

Damnit! I'm so old. At least I've got the balls to admit that I totally rocked out in the nineties.

Fine classic "pop" then.

...who?

[identity profile] 2-1-actual.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
How the Hell are they classic?

[identity profile] deathwontstopme.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not joking. Who are they?

[identity profile] letsmakemagik.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Hell yeah they were. I still remember every dance move to the last scene of "Everybody". Yeah, we're a couple of old farts for remembering the good ol' days.

Simply amazing. Honestly, I miss the way music used to be. It was so upbeat and fun. Now it's all about partying too much, or its depressing.

I don't know, is it going to hurt?

[identity profile] 2-1-actual.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
It's a one hit wonder.

[identity profile] letsmakemagik.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Dead serious I'd totally start one now.

Seriously though I'm with you on that, I have enough crap in my life to listen to whats popular now. Point and case if I have to hear "Love the Way you Lie" one more time I might smash something.

[identity profile] deathwontstopme.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
Oh well, if it's a catchy death, I guess I can't complain. Though remember my musical exposure was limited to Dad and Dean's mullet rock, some college radio and the non-music of NPR.

[identity profile] 2-1-actual.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
It's a mix of both, but you can hardly count it as a classic. By your logic, Barbie Girl and Mambo Number 5 should be classics, too.

That would make so much sense...

I could too. It's so violent. There's enough violence in the world as it is, the last thing we need is to listen to for entertainment. But maybe I'm just old fashioned.

ACDC was as close as I got to Opera until I was at college and trying out different radio stations.
