I'm not ready to admit that I'm old enough to have the Smash Mouth, Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, and other various nineties stars qualify as "Classic Rock".
Might be time to own up, dudette. That hill is nearing on the horizon. I don't think any of them count as rock though. I mean maybe if you got creative, but a rooster's a peacock if I get creative too.
Hell yeah they were. I still remember every dance move to the last scene of "Everybody". Yeah, we're a couple of old farts for remembering the good ol' days.
Simply amazing. Honestly, I miss the way music used to be. It was so upbeat and fun. Now it's all about partying too much, or its depressing.
Damn. You're going to make me break out my mortifying childhood music collection, aren't you? For the record, California has entirely too much sun per square inch and it fried my brain. Remember it because that is my excuse.
Gritty is the new trend, I guess. I could live without it, my life is gritty enough without a soundtrack, you know? Start a petition for bringing back the happy and I'll sign it.
Yeah, but it was the nineties, what wasn't a one hit wonder? I mean maybe there was more but my attention span wasn't long enough for it. Which probably describes a good chunk of America, so there's your problem. Or crappier and crappier music. Hard to say.
Seriously though I'm with you on that, I have enough crap in my life to listen to whats popular now. Point and case if I have to hear "Love the Way you Lie" one more time I might smash something.
Oh well, if it's a catchy death, I guess I can't complain. Though remember my musical exposure was limited to Dad and Dean's mullet rock, some college radio and the non-music of NPR.
Okay, honestly? I seriously thought Eminem was dead for two years and then that came out and my first thought was zombie. I could live without rap at all though.
Yeah, this is going to be quick and painful then, dude. At least I'm not making you listen to my dad's opera collection? Wagner was as close as I got to rock until I hit ten.
I could too. It's so violent. There's enough violence in the world as it is, the last thing we need is to listen to for entertainment. But maybe I'm just old fashioned.
