Everything I do has a purpose.

To help people appreciate the gift of life they have been given and not to waste it.

Yes.

They take it for granted. It is only when someone is faced with his own mortality that he appreciates the worth of a life.

You can imagine I've been busy then.

How else would you suggest they be convinced?

Do you believe your purpose a noble one?

I do. I am not a murderer. I merely test. Whether a person lives or dies is entirely up to them.

What an unusual viewpoint for a human to possess. Do many pass your test?

I don't know, John. All these thoughts are getting confused in my head.

Some do, and they appreciate the gift that is life far more.

Thoughts about what?

Amazing. Rarely have I met one who reminds me so much of myself.

And it is rare that I meet someone who shares my point of view.

I suppose it takes one who can see things objectively to do so. I have the advantage of not having the same point of view as the rest of humanity.

And why is that if I may ask?

I was never human to begin with. I am detached, able to empathize but never sympathize with those I come into contact with.

Is that so?

Really? You look human to me. That is most interesting.

What do I have to gain by lying?

You never know. People lie to make other people feel better. Or they're hiding something.
