I did before but I made they wouldn't bother me anymore.

Sometimes you have to tell them what they want to hear.

I reckon you must be pretty clever, to suss out what it is all them doctors want to hear and give it to them.

When you're a kid they practically tell you what to say.

True 'nuff, I suppose. They don't think you're smart enough to sort things out yourself, maybe.
