*approaches Cuddy's office, takeout in tow*

*looks up from her files* You're here already? And on that ankle?

I took the train from the city and got take out from across the street. *grins* A guy travels fast when a pretty lady is waiting. *looks around* Your office is huge!

*smiles slightly, looking around* I think getting the new furniture really opened it up.

It's great. *hobbles around and then runs his hand over her desk* Especially the desk. Is it new?

It's old, actually. *smiles, placing a hand on the wood* My old desk from med school.

Wow. It must have a lot of history. What a great idea to bring back to your office. Now it's been with you at your humble beginnings and now to your awesome success as the big boss. That's very cool.

To be honest, I didn't even think about bringing it back when I was redoing everything. *pauses, smiling slightly* Dr. House... was the one who had it brought here.

Oh. *pauses thinking about how to respond. The desk is definitely a gesture with meaning behind it but somehow that seems uncharacteristic of Dr. House* That was nice... of him. To do. It was a nice thing of him to do.

It was nice. And completely out-of-character. *she shrugs and sighs* I don't know what goes on in his head most days.

Yeah. I mean, it would have actually taken effort to surprise you with this. That's pretty big. Think you've got an admirer in him?

Perhaps. *she looks lost in thought for a moment before she comes back to her reverie* Well, that food smells great.

Oh yeah. Dig in! I've got all kinds of things.*sits on one side of the desk and starts to munch*

*instead of taking a seat in her chair, she leans against the desk in front of him, reaching for her food*

*grins, watching her serve herself*

*takes a bite, smiling* Oh, it tastes even better than it smells.

*talking with his mouth full slightly* I like doing little things for you like bringing you lunch. You seem like you're holed up so often and treated so rarely that you appreciate these things more than the average person.

Believe me, it's a rare occasion when someone actually brings me my lunch.

Well, I was happy to do it. Why do I think you actually getting to eat lunch is a rare occasion?

Actually get to eat is rare, too, unless it comes in microwaveable form.

I'm glad to give you some variety then.

So am I. *picks up her fork and takes a bite of her food*
