Well, during the first thanksgiving the pilgrims and the Native Americans feasted on "wild game". And turkey back then was wild and not...well, raised for the slaughter. So it was wild game. Plus turkies are prettier than other sorts of wild game and it's easier to get than quail.
Alright then. So why is it a holiday? I can understand settlers being thankful for not dying, but why set aside a day to be thankful? Can't you be thankful any day? What if you really don't like your life, is that considered cheating? We don't have this in New Zealand.
I can never decide what to watch. By the time I flip through all the channels a new program has started. Have you ever watched any New Zealand programming? Well... besides Lord of the Rings. That's all anyone seems to know.
