I tend to prefer honesty and getting the truth, but there are times when it does more harm than good.

It's in the nature of my job that I have an obligation to report any information I have regarding dangerous criminals to the police. However, what the police don't know won't hurt the ones I'm protecting.

Well, the police, for one? And yes, they do, but as an employee of the city's justice system, I am supposed to make sure that they live in either the penitentiary or the asylum, depending on which they "qualify" for.

Or sometimes it is an outright lie. Such as thinking someone who wouldn't ever hurt me was dangerous and giving my word that I would report to the police if I ever received contact from him.
