Right. I don't think that anyone can go though life not getting down once in a while. It isn't as if I'm running around with a defeatist attitude, but sometimes the world is a frustrating place.
"My greetings, sir. Dr. John Holliday, at your service." John bows slightly and politely and removes his hat. "I couldn't help but overhear your comment. It is tragedy though true that one's best is often not enough to accomplish what one must. But, whatever the outcome, one's best is one's best, and there is a clear and fine nobility in attempting to nevertheless reach beyond it to attain what one needs."
::He offers a nod to the stranger:: Dresden. Or Harry I suppose.
There is something to that. At least there are no regrets to be had when you give something your all. It's just a sobering thought. People, myself included, tend to like thinking if they put their mind to it they can do anything. Unfortunately, that isn't really the case.
"No regrets. That is it exactly." John smiles, but with understanding rather than mirth. "One can surely do more with that mode of thinking than with one that assumes less. I do not know what tragedy has ensued, but you have my sympathy, sir."
"Business is to allow one to fulfill one's personal concerns. Of course, the best business is when work becomes personal concern. But naturally it would weigh more heavily. It is that which is important." John is still attentive and his tone leaves the conversation open to reply. He is not so much stating as suggesting for consideration.
::The words seem to dig at a hidden pain, he hides it the best he can::
It's not really possible to keep your personal life isolated from your business, is it? No matter how hard you may try to. How you feel always spills into your job and how your job effects you always effects your personal life.

Still gotta give it though.

How are you doing Tonks?

AAAnd no. All the way or no way - at least for the things that matter. Has something new happened that's got you thinking it's not good enough?

Will you be coming next week (http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee309/rmoony/invite.png) by any chance?

Not especially. Just the general complications of everyday living. Or everyday life for me anyway.

I think I can make the trip. RSVP for three just in case, but I don't know that Jill will be able to make it. She hasn't been home much.

*beams* Good! We'll be looking forward. It's... just going to be an excuse for a party, I think. *but one she's very happy about, so...*
