Ohhh, well .. I've done that .. Uh. Multiple times.
First from New York to LA, then LA to Beverly Hills .. Then I was travelling around Europe for a little over a month .. Tuscany, Venice, London, Paris .. Back to LA to move to Beverly Hills, then to Tokyo for a little while .. I just got back.
I .. think I need to actually settle down somewhere for once. [Laughs] I think that's how I need to start over.
I think I was making up for the fact that I'd moved only once, and barely, when I was around one. There were twenty-four years of being rooted to one city and I guess I was making up for lost time. [Laughs] Where have you moved from/to?
Yeah, I was born and raised in New York. I lived on Long Island until I was six, then my dad moved me and him to Central Park South. That was the big move of my twenty-five years of life. [Laughs] Not exactly .. monumental.
Certainly do. [Smiles] You're the first person I've talked to who .. has even heard of Long Island, let alone lived there. I used to spend a lot of my summers out in Westhampton Beach, Quogue, and Montauk. Surfed at Gilgo a few times, too.
I don't think anyone would have blamed you, actually.
I've been over to Westhampton Beach a couple of times, mostly with friends or something. But I can't believe I'm the only one you know who's at least heard of Long Island.
Yeah, that's usually what I did. I had a few friends who had summer houses out there. But I'm a city boy, so that's where I spent the majority of my time. And I know -- It's unbelievable, right?
[Shakes her hand with a faint smile] It's nice to meet you, Rain.
So, Ohio, huh? You heading towards Columbus or some rural town?
I think we have a few summer houses somewhere but I haven't been to any of them in a couple of years. I mostly keep my trouble to Freeport. I was pretty sure everyone knew about New York, though.
Ours was in Quogue, but we hung out in Westhampton Beach mainly. Everyone knows about New York City, and Niagra Falls. That's about it .. people forget about Long Island.
Columbus, right .. I'd offer you some help if you were coming to California, or Tuscany .. or even London or Paris, but -- I'm afraid I can't do much in Ohio. I don't really have any contacts out there. But if you find yourself on the West Coast, feel free to look me up. [Smiles] James S. Carlisle, Beverly Hills.

Ohio? .. What's in Ohio? Other than Daytona?
no subject
Nothing. Threw a dart at a map and got Ohio.

[Laughs] That's a good way to do it. Good thing you didn't land on something like .. Oklahoma. North Dakota .. Alabamba.

I might have had to do a rethrow if that happened.

I'm James, by the way. [Extends a hand]

Columbus, probably. I like cities.
