I just think it's funny. But all the politically correct people I go to school with seem to think I should have some sort of opinion about it. Which is in itself kinda racist, if you think about it.
I'm sorry, the last conversation I had with someone of that particular bent left the corner of my eye twitching for three hours straight. The very fact that these people think that someone else should hold an opinion of their preference kind of tells you everything you need to know about political correctness. There's a blind sort of aggressiveness to it, with little sensitivity to the thoughts and feelings of actual individual people.
And plus, they're, you know, college students. "They" - meaning, their parents - are paying all this money, so they better be learning to be the best people in the world.
No, I can sympathize. We all want to believe that what we think is right or moral or...whatever.
I know, I know. I simply draw the line at their trying to tell me, you or whoever what to feel.
Some people are upset about this incident, certainly, but there's no yardstick for the proper amount of 'upset'. People need to search and express their own feelings on this and other issues.
I don't know. I admit to being a bit of a curmudgeon about relatively small issues...I'm much more worried about the sort of injustices where people get hurt, lose their homes or businesses or get killed. *rubs an odd-looking scar on her left forearm*
