It's not like you've not done one before. {she's a bandaid on her forehead and she's looking a little pale.}

I know, it's just... [looks up from his grumpy and sees her current state. His brow furrows in concern as he runs his thumb gently along the bandaid] Hey, what happened to you?

{smiles just a little} I ~~fainted~~ tripped and hit my head at work. Been sent home.

Oh honey. [kisses her forehead--close to the bandaid] Are you gonna be okay? [hugs her, rubbing her shoulder]

{wraps her arms around him, head on his shoulder} I will be, I just need to rest, get rid of this headache.

[strokes her hair] Okay. D'you want me to lie with you for a little bit?

{nods slowly} Do you have time before work?

I have about 45 minutes, yeah.

{leans against him, suddenly seeming tired} Feel like I could sleep for a week.

[ope. holds her a little tighter, walks her over to the bed] You're the CMO, why not take advantage of your position? [folds back the bedcovers to let her climb in]

{Climbs in, looking up at him and shaking her head} You know I hate being in bed without you.

[dims the lights with his mind and climbs in next to her with a little kiss] I know you do. [strokes the side of her face] I'll stay until after you're asleep, okay?

{curls up against him, head resting on his shoulder} Okay, think you could check on me every few hours? Just in case I'm concust?

{cups the side of his neck, eyes closing} I was thinking we could spend Valentines on our balcony?

[his arm wraps around her, he strokes her hair soothingly] Sure, hon. I'll come by on my breaks. [and more often if he can get away with it]

[a little smile--fond memories, that balcony...] You'd like that?

{smiles} You're good to me. {snuggles against his neck}

I would, I'd like that a lot. {closes her eyes}

I try...[he smiles softly and kisses her hair]

Mmmkay. [starts running through ideas for it in his head, still stroking her hair]

Will you bring breakfast one your way home? {smiles as she says home. Either of their rooms is classed as home}

Sure hon, what would you like?

Food?

[laughs softly] Okay, I'll see what they have later. [stroooking her hair]

{smiles, reaching up and turning his face so she could kiss him}

No regrets. [kisses her softly]

{kisses him, shifting a little to deepen the kiss but winces and lays flat on her back}

[blinkblink] [he scoots up a little to look at her] Hey, what's wrong? [a pause] Do you need me to radio McBride? [reaches to tap his comm]

I'm fine, it's probably my body telling me it hates me for falling over.

If you're sure... [srs!Chuck is serious, looking at her through his eyebrows] You'll radio me or McBride if you need anything between my times checking up on you, okay? [thumb brushes her cheek]

I will {sleepy smile} But I think you should probably put a bowl at the side of the bed.

A bowl...[momentarily confused, then it dawns on him, she mentioned concussion. and what can sometimes come with concussion? That's right, Chuck, nausea!] ...oh, okay. Yeah I'll do that before I go. [blinkblink, kisses her forehead]

And a glass of water! {puts the pillow over her head}

[smiles a little, even when she's ill she's cute] Okay, I'll get you a big tall glass... [rubs her shoulder gently]

{muffled} Love you.

I swear... between you and John...

[laughs] I wouldn't want you to strain yourself. Of course I always deserve it.

When will you both have time off again?
Claire drew you another picture *starts to dig through her purse* I thought I had it with me...

[frowns] I dunno, Maria, I don't know.

Ohh, she did? [grins, he can't wait to see the picture] That's great! You've got a budding artist in little Claire-bug!

Do I need to come down there and bring the fury of Maria Lion? *is totally joking*

*pulls out a very crumpled and juice stained picture of a dog and balloons*
Don't tell John that. *smiles* He's decided that she's going to be either a rock star or a chief litigator on the hill.

[laughs] Nope, no fury needed...

[smiles at the cuteness and always genuine art that is Claire's drawing] Oh, that's beautiful! Hands down she'll be selling oil paintings before she's sixteen. John doesn't know what he's saying. Will you tell her I'm gonna put it up on my wall right next to her rainbow kitty drawing?

I'll tell her first thing.

*smiles* Will you be the one to be getting the paint stains out of the carpet then?

Okay, cool!

[smirks] Hardwood floors are a lot easier to clean.
