Not my problem? There loss not mine? That's shit. In the end I'm the one alone and not good enough. How am I this great person when no one can stay long enough? If I was so great wouldn't someone take that chance?

Hey, who ever said you weren' good enough? *Frowns* Doctor, the world--both galaxies--are full of shallow, self-absorbed people. God's gift to mankind wouldn't be able to keep most of them more than a few months. Trust me, I know it hurts. It's the worst thing in the world to be the one left alone and rejected for somethin' new--but that doesn't make it your fault.

*Squeezes shoulder* You, you're a wonderful person. I've seen the way you care about people, and the way that you pick up and keep tryin', time after time. Those are some pretty great qualities. I know none of this is makin' anythin' sound any better right now, but it is true. Y'can take it from someone who's been numb before.

I'm so tired of trying, tired of getting up off of my ass after someone else puts me down. And if I'm so wonderful then why do people treat me the way they do?

The hard truth is because you are. Either you mow people down, or you get mowed down--over and over again until you find the one in a hundred who's worthwhile.

I can't keep getting up.

You can. You've got friends, and people who care about you, who'll help you get up even when you think you can't.

People who have their own problems, their own lives. Couldn't tell you the last time I saw John or Lorne.

Having their own lives doesn't make them any less friends, and it doesn't mean they can't make time if you need them.

Sometimes it does, they have their own problems Cam. They don't need to hear mine.

Well, I'm listening. No problems to distract me. So, you do have people to listen--even when everyone else is dealing with some intergalactic threat or another, you've still got someone who'll listen. I'd say that's not so bad.

{bites her lips before moving forward and just hiding her face in his chest, hugging him} Thanks Cam.
