I don't miss political maneuvering, although I understand it appeals to some people. Why the disparity?

Sounds like my problems are universal.

In a very general sense, maybe. I'm not quite the oldest--I'm a twin--but there's always a child in the family that has to shoulder more responsibility. It's what that means that probably depends.

And I don't want to assume, of course.

Of course. When I got married I thought I'd never have time for any more mischief. ...which turned out to be untrue, but that wasn't such a bad thing, so you never know -- whatever sort of responsibility awaits you could surprise you.

I meant they're closer than the rest. My father has only a few actual friends. He'd be the isolated one, I suppose.

Oops. It used to be I could explain that sort of thing with English as a second language, but I think I don't have the excuse anymore.

It's funny; all the people I've known who were the most isolated were the ones with the weight of the world on their shoulders.

I'm afraid I don't, either, I'm sorry. My native language is Kalderash, which is slightly less obscure, but not very.

Politics is so unpleasant.

It has its upsides. Sometimes. Just not so much right now. Because of the diplomacy along with the politics.

diplomacy with other countries? or diplomacy as in not making all the courtiers hate you? I am better at the first than the second myself...

Uhm. Hm. At the moment the former, but often I have to deal with the latter as well.

I think maybe it's because the latter is a constant concern that it is so irritating. Anyway, I hope your negotiations go well!
