Trying to write. Trying and failing is more like it. I've been distracted by company as of late. And before that was writer's block. However, if it ever happens, I'm supposed to be writing a children's novel. At least those are the conditions of the advance I received..

Kids book, huh? Nice. I guess the trouble is getting the ideas. Once you get the ideas it's all good, right? I don't think I could ever write something. Maybe just a guide to the best burgers to eat at 3am. Should I not be distracting you now?

No. You're not distracting me. The wors just aren't writing themselves tonight, so I've set everything aside. No use in being frustrated.

Only when it comes to burgers. I'm not known for eating dill pickles otherwise.

Then with everything it is, unless there's something else you don't like? I can't say I like them, but somehow they taste right in a burger.

*produces two burgers with the works, and some fries* Here you go, Erik the writer. You know which part I like the best? That first moment the scent of the burger hits your senses. It's like heaven.

I think that first bite is a little better. Everything's in the right place and you haven't lost half of your tomato on the other end. *embarassed because he's a messy eater*

*grins because she's found a kindred spirit in the messy eating* I swear I just wind up eating most of my burger off the paper. Or plate if I'm actually eating in a proper cafe, or something. It's usually my lettuce to go first.

I'm a bad liar. When I have really good days I write them down so I can go back if I need to. It's silly.

Journals are useful for remembering those details that like to leave us aren't they? Go back? Metaphorically speaking?

Sometimes I wonder what I could do differently if I could go back. But I have to believe that we go through these things for a reason. Even if these things hurt us...

Going back really wouldn't change things you're destined for. Not that I know of, anyway.
