Not really? It was my attempt at humor. The whole SAT question thing where Holidays are to Bars as Peanut-Butter is to Jelly? But really it was too many words, and I thought maybe someone would get it? Apparently my college humor didn't catch on.
Of course now I'm thinking that bars should serve Peanut-Butter and Jelly, but that's probably because I'm hungry.
Ah, see, I understand it now, although bar's are wanted most times of the year, not just holidays. Many people go weekly, some daily. They are just there.
But I suppose they are used all the more this time of the year because of the holiday cheer.
Oh completely true, bars are pretty much an all year thing, but I think Thanksgiving and Christmas are actually the busiest times for bars. Something about the Holidays making people realize they are pretty much alone? Drives them to drink with strangers.
So probably not on the holiday cheer side of things, but maybe trying to make it more of holiday Cheering Up?
I think it drives then to go somewhere to find someone to drink with. You're right, it's about finding company. That and not watching the rest of your family have fun and be all settled and couply while you're all alone.
