*rolls eyes, irritated* Ruthless? You're the one that mentioned it! Like two guys totally duking it out over a girl with no rules or anything. There's probably other versions too like Judyless, Amberless...I guess Ruthless just got the most popular.
Actually, ruth comes from the Middle English word "reuthe", which meant pity or compassion. It was simplified, and therefore "ruthless," or to be without pity or compassion.
Makes sense. I knew this girl named Ruth in high school...totally felt sorry for her. Her zits were so big they looked like pepperonis. Talk about a pizza face!
I don't care what people think of me or what I do to get things done. I've... looked the other way for vigilantes because they're the only ones in this town who get things done, even if they don't follow legal procedure. I don't give a damn when some mobst-- excuse me, "alleged" mobster is shot dead in the street...
Where I am, truly good people are hard to come by.
That doesn't sound like the makes of a bad person to me. Even the law has its flaws and I can understand having to take matters into your own hands, so to speak. It sounds like you just want to help your town.

[ Can't help a small chuckle. ] No, far from it. I just like to pay attention to details.
