(no subject)

They say "ruthless" like it's bad...

[identity profile] affanato.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 08:41 am (UTC)(link)
That's because ruthless implies being merciless, and everyone likes a little mercy.

[identity profile] affanato.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 08:49 am (UTC)(link)
No.

[identity profile] trophywife84.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 08:46 am (UTC)(link)
Um probably because it is. We don't want people beating up each other or anything. Especially over some girl named "Ruth". Totally gross name.

[identity profile] trophywife84.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 09:01 am (UTC)(link)
*rolls eyes, irritated* Ruthless? You're the one that mentioned it! Like two guys totally duking it out over a girl with no rules or anything. There's probably other versions too like Judyless, Amberless...I guess Ruthless just got the most popular.

[identity profile] trophywife84.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 09:15 am (UTC)(link)
Makes sense. I knew this girl named Ruth in high school...totally felt sorry for her. Her zits were so big they looked like pepperonis. Talk about a pizza face!

So are you an English teacher or something?

[identity profile] trophywife84.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 09:29 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, I'm not a kid okay?

*gets an "OH MY GOD" face and inhales* Oh my god! You're a CSI aren't you?! Like the ones on TV?!

[identity profile] trophywife84.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 09:55 am (UTC)(link)
CIA? *tilts head* Are you allowed to say that? I mean you're old and everything but...you can talk about stuff like that when you retire?

[identity profile] trophywife84.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 10:12 am (UTC)(link)
Did you kill anyone or anything?

[identity profile] trophywife84.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 11:15 am (UTC)(link)
You totally did. I'm gonna tell Craig I met a real CIA agent. He'll be so jealous!

[identity profile] knowthenbreak.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 08:53 am (UTC)(link)
It usually is bad, but sometimes it's necessary.

[identity profile] knowthenbreak.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 08:57 am (UTC)(link)
So, who is this "they"? Just a general collective? Or a specific group?

[identity profile] knowthenbreak.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, well, then you can't take their opinion too seriously. A lot of people are sheltered and stupid.

[identity profile] knowthenbreak.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
Go into law. You'll get used to it really quickly there.

[identity profile] knowthenbreak.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 09:16 am (UTC)(link)
And you still care what people think of you? You're a better person than I am.

[identity profile] knowthenbreak.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 09:26 am (UTC)(link)
I don't care what people think of me or what I do to get things done. I've... looked the other way for vigilantes because they're the only ones in this town who get things done, even if they don't follow legal procedure. I don't give a damn when some mobst-- excuse me, "alleged" mobster is shot dead in the street...

Where I am, truly good people are hard to come by.

[identity profile] ladyanguissette.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 11:47 am (UTC)(link)
Sometimes...

And sometimes, it is breathtaking.

[identity profile] ladyanguissette.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
'Terrible' can have ambivalent implications. I've seen those on whom ruthlessness can be necessary, and then it is like beholding a great storm.

OMMGGGGG <3 THAT MOVIE

[identity profile] thefirstspectre.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
That's 'cause it can be.
