Oh, I remember the attempts at indoctrination well enough, but there seem to be plenty of non-humans running about desperately searching for it as well. I don't understand why they would even bother.
Whether there is something more or not...what makes anyone think it gives a damn if they deny their nature in some attempt to....what? Impress it? If there is something more, some all powerful being, then surely it created us all as we are, and thus...do we not deny it's greater plan by denying that which we are?
It's really not. Some people benefit from it. Looking for a little redemption, I mean. Like penance for their sins, you know? They can make up for the things they've done and move on with their lives.
