"Mmmmm?" He looked over at the ranger and then shrugged at him. "Truly, I am sorry. My attache is either dead, or I will kill him. Either way, I can't possibly meet with you. I will be very distracted during our conversation. It would not be fair to you, or to me, so there we are. Your mustache is simply too large." His mischievous grin got just a little wider.
"Tell me, yes? Do you have to feed that thing, or do you simply share your meals with each bite?"
He raised his finger toward the ceiling, but evidently forgot whatever point he was going to make. He dropped his hand, then moved to swallow more from his drink.
"...and what brings you to my happy table, Mmmmm? Which Goddess should I give thanks to this evening?"
occ: your reply was vintage marcus. i could even hear his voice in my head while I read it. kudos.
"There is only one Goddess I can think of." He gestured for Marcus to take the other seat.
"But she is usually busy burning. Tell me how I can help you then, yes? I cannot buy you a drink. We won't be gambling..." He leaned back in his seat. "Debauchery is probably out of the question. A healthy benefit from your Minbari training, no doubt."
He looked away and finished his drink just as the waitress brought a new one.
"Well, this is most fortunate. My life has little room for great importance, only the Grand variety." He held the new beverage but didn't drink any yet. "Like as an example, somebody signals to tell me we have misplaced a small moon, or a Narn boy has been found in bed with a palace chamber-maid." He downed the entire drink, and slammed it on the table's surface.
"However... For you, my good and very dear friend, I would make an exception. I will even wait for you to go and stroll further to find one. This I can do.
"Would it matter? If anything of grand importance was to be added to my schedule, It would probably have to wait until the dust it collected started to eat itself." He toyed with his empty glass on the table.
"Ohhh, I tell you. Were it possible for somebody to take the state of being busy and return it in liquid form, it would be departing from every orifice."
"Then now you will." He gestured again for the waitress.
"First I will pay out, then we will go to Fresh Air. Once we are dining like kings, you will regale me with stories of courage and danger. I have recently finished an evening with an acquaintance of extreme importance. Now she's gone, I do not wish to dine alone, so there we are."
OOC: This little writer needs to take a nap. LOL!!! Got a post with G'Kar I need to do, and I am worthless when exhausted.
So many projects, so little time. Give me some snark for the road?
