I dunno. Is she really pretty and nice and kind of sad?

*smiles, nods* Aye, that sounds like her. Holly Kennedy? Except between you and me, I hope she won't be sad fer very much longer.

Me neither. I don't 'member her last name. *whispers* She's special. I really like her.

*teasing* Looks like I have competition.

Competition? No, she can more than one friend. It's allowed. In fact, do you want to be friends? My name's William. Billy.

*smile* Any friend o' Holly's is a friend o' mine. *offers a hand* I'm Gerry. Me best mate from Ireland was called Billy, ya know.

Hi Gerry! *ignores his hand to hug him* I've never been to Ireland, but my friend's cat is named Gerry!

I like how you talk! You're cool!

*laughs and gives him a squeeze* Nice ta meet ya, mate. Oh, aye? A wise creature, I'm sure. *winks*

*smiles* Thanks very much. Where're ya from, Billy?

He's cute, so he's probably smart.

*grins* I'm from New York City, New York!

*nod* No doubt about it.

*smiles* So good they named it twice.

Yep. Have you ever been to New York?

*smiles, nod* Aye, I live there meself. Brooklyn.

Cool! Holly lives in Brooklyn!

*smiles* Yeah, I live with Holly. She's me wife.

OOooh. She didn't say she was married. Well that's okay. Do you take good care of her? Do you always feed her?

*smile* I do me best, lad. Have you been takin' care o' Holly fer me while I've been away?

Good. That's VERY important!

*nods*

Yep! I think maybe she was lonely. But now that you're back you can give her lots of hugs so she's not anymore.

*serious nod* It is. *raises a hand* Scouts honour, I will not let Holly starve.

Then I think I owe ya a thank you. *smiles* Fer takin' such good care o' her fer me.

Well, hey there, Billy! I'm sorry I didn't see you sooner!

*smiles as she touches his head gently*

What can I do ya for? I've been meaning to get that stuffed animal still!

HOLLY! *jumps into her arms to hug her*

I just hadn't seen you in a while. I missed you. How are you?

And you didn't say you were married! I like Gerry! He's great! Even though he talks funny! *giggles*

*returns the hug, and whirls him around a little bit*

You know, I missed you, too! I thought about you the other day, and how we haven't had a chance to go to get that stuffed animal.

*sets him down again, laughing*

I didn't? Hm. Remember when I was feeling sad? The day that you came and hugged me? That was why. I was feeling sad about Gerry.

*smiles softly with a wink*

Between you and me, I like Gerry, too. A lot, in fact. And he does talk funny, doesn't he? I think it makes him special, though! Like you!

*grins*
I know. Oh well, we can do it some other time!

Why did he make you sad? He was nice to me.

He does seem special, like you too! And I sort of like how he talks. We were talking about how pretty you are and how we like you a lot!

Okay - we'll have to set aside a date. And don't forget to check with your mom!

*smile fades for a brief second before coming back*

It was just something that had happened. He's very nice. One of the nicest out there. But don't worry - I'm okay now.

*laughs*

Well, thank you, Billy! If I know Gerry, and I do pretty well I'd say, I'm sure he likes you a lot, too! Just how I like you a lot.

Okay! You can even meet her or my dad if you want.

*smiles and holds her hand*

He said he and I could friends and that his best friend in Err-land *pretending to do Gerry's accent* was named Billy too!

I'd love to meet them! They sound like great people from what I've heard from a certain someone.

*winks and gives his hand a gentle squeeze*

Indeed he was! A good fella - nice like Gerry. And talks like him, too. And Gerry's a great friend to have. Even better than me!
