Actually, that wasn't what I was thinking. How long has the headache been persisting?

Have you taken anything for the headache? Had any headaches before this one recently?

*nod* Aye, they've been on and off fer about a month. Just been takin' some painkillers fer 'em.

*Carter nodded* And have they been helping at all? Any balance problems or syncope- sorry, blackout episodes?

Not really. I think they're just makin' me sluggish. And yeah, me balance has been a bit off. *frowns a little* Blackouts? None that I know of.

That ... sounds a bit serious.

I'm sorry Mr. Kennedy. I didn't mean to scare you. Unfortunately headaches can be a rather serious thing, especially if what could potentially be causing them is left undiagnosed. The questions I'm asking are standard procedure though, nothing to worry about. Just want to make sure everything is okay. *smiles*

*nods, smiling apologetically, rubbing a hand across his face* Yeah, o' course, I'm sorry. Bit paranoid, I suppose.

Not a problem. *Carter told him before thinking it over gently* Mr. Kennedy, would you mind maybe coming into the E.R. at some point so that I can properly have a look at you? *He questioned. Carter didn't want to dismiss the man just in case. He would rather he be checked out just to be safe.*

Just Gerry, please. *scratches behind ear* Er, yeah, sure. If ya reckon it'd be best.

Gerry it is then. *Carter said with another smile before reaching to pull out a card and hand it to him* Just ask for me when you come in. Better to be safe. *He said with a nod*

Right. *takes the card* Thanks very much Dr. Carter. *offers hand* I'll see ya soon, then?

*Takes his hand and shakes it with a smile* I'll be waiting for your visit.

On and off fer a few weeks now but this particular one? Two days. It's been drivin' me mad, I tell ya. And just a bit unsteady on me feet and been feelin' a bit weak, ya know? Haven't got the energy fer anythin'.

*blinks a little and then smile, taking his hand* Kennedy... is your wife by any chance Holly? I've met her. She's nice. *doesn't say any more than that*

Have you taken painkillers?

*gives it a firm shake, smiling* Aye, that's me girl. Known each other long?

*nod* Just some aspirin. Doesn't really put a dent in it.

Not very long, about a week. *smiles*

*frowns* Hmm... headaches can be serious, especially if they're causing nausea or unsteadiness. I could give you stronger painkillers, but maybe a trip to the hospital if it persists? Just to rule the more serious issues out of course. *smiles*

Ah, right. *nod*

*frowns a little* ... Alright. I'll make an appointment. *nods* And the painkillers'd be brilliant, thanks.

*rummages into his bag and pulls out a pad* Are you allergic to ibuprofen?

*shakes head, wincing slightly* No.

*nods and writes him a strong dose of ibuprofen* Take one every 4-6 hours but no more than 8 in 24 hours. With a meal preferably.

Right. *pause* Thanks fer this, mate and ... I was just wonderin' if we could keep this between us? I don't wanna worry Holly over nothin', y'know?

*nods and smiles* Of course, everything you tell me is just between us. I am a doctor after all. Confidentiality, and I hope it is nothing, I really do.

*smiles* Thank you. Hey, I'll let ya know how it goes? Maybe it's all me years o' boozin' 'round in pubs comin' back ta haunt me.
