Yes. Certain jobs require that thinking. Some individuals are born with it. It's not to judge them, not at all. I'm just not used to it, like they are.
I didn't want them to die. They were shooting at me, and, I was shooting back hoping to scare them off. I was trying to give me some time to run away in another direction. I was aiming at something else, but shot them instead.
Awful. Just. Awful.
I suppose you are correct, if used properly, confidently, a gun is useful.
If they were shooting at you, they were trying to kill you, Ma'am.
It was going to be you, or them. There is no indication that a group of gun wielding assailants would flee from a lone woman, even with a gun. If they hadn't gotten you, maybe they would have gotten someone's daughter tomorrow.
There are a lot of things that you don't know, that led up to the moment. They aren't guilty any more than I am innocent. It was a set of circumstances that should never have happened, but did.
Maybe It's like they say: you pays your money, you takes your choice. They didn't have to shoot back. They drew first and kept shooting, they didn't have to.
If I had more experience, we wouldn't even be talking about this. At least, I don't think so. Do experienced gun handlers screw up?
I am hoping, you understand enough not to pressure for details. I don't want to lie. Not to a police officer, a stranger. If it makes it any easier for you, my gun is legally obtained and registered. In the future, when I have more experience, I will be using it correctly. I hope.
Maybe it is just as well I can't be fully convinced. I don't want to be the type of person who just switches off and stops caring. Who gets enjoyment or something out of killing. I want to keep my conscious. It may not be healthy all round, but at least it stops me coming one of those monsters you keep off the streets.

Maybe more education or training?

Please attend a firearm safety class, and then a shooting class at a firing range.
They will give you skill and confidence.

*Makes a face.* I don't know, if I will ever get confidence with using a gun. How can I be confident in having to kill someone? That's just cold.
Sorry I am babbling. Shock I suppose.

There is a certain territory...it comes with.
Oftentimes, something must die so that something else may live. Defensively, a gun is a wonderful item.

Only us humans; some more often than others.

Technically...yes. No, I can't tell you the details.
Well, that is a relief I suppose.

Once a bullet is under way, its out of your hands. Therein lies where errors are made.

*Sighs.* Yes. I guess the only thing I can keep in my hands, is my way of dealing with it all.

I don't think I can convince you that its alright. Maybe it isn't. But if you live by it, you die by it. *winces*
