Perhaps you should believe in the ones that do not leave.

I do believe in my father.

But I believed in Billy too, we're supposed to be married someday. Now, he left.

It is the way of fathers to always stay beside their children.

Why would he leave when you should be so happy?

We thought I was pregnant, Billy's just turned 18 and looking at going to medical school. I'm not and he wrote me a letter saying he was going away for two weeks and then somewhere else after that. He needed time to clear his head.

You don't just leave, not if you love someone.

Has he gone for good or does he merely require solitude?

Two or more weeks, he just left a note. Didn't even say goodbye to me.

I'm sorry. Perhaps goodbye is too hard to say. I have only done so once and it is the most difficult thing I have ever done.

Only dad really wants me there, dad and the animals.

Others alone can not isolate us. We must wish it as well. If such is the case though I do imagine your father loves you very much. He must love you all if he can keep you together with such discord.

He tries very hard but I hide a lot of things now. It's better for him if he doesn't know how bad things are.

If you hide what has happened then how will any ever end your isolation?

Maybe I prefer to be alone now, everything is just...painful.

What of others in your life. One alone does not make a family or a life. Peninnah saddened but tried not to let it show.
