(no subject)

I'll forgive if it kills me.

Admirable.

I can think of a man who shared your disposition.

They nailed him to a cross.

You can't keep a good man down, though.

I haven't even mentioned his name.

Only his actions.

"I'll forgive if it kills me."

And it did.

If you mean it. . .

Don't expect it to go any other way.

A noble intention, certainly.

You know, sometimes that's the greatest revenge.

[identity profile] mlady-summoner.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
The people who did whatever it is you're forgiving them for...it seems sometimes that they can't take being forgiven. That's not to say that forgiveness should ever be given on selfish terms, but it often works to ones advantage with enemies.

[identity profile] mlady-summoner.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
I understand that. Staying mad at someone hurts me, and I don't even have an extraordinary life-span!

Certainly!

[identity profile] anothermoriarty.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
That's the spirit.

[identity profile] manonmars.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Bit morbid.

Remind me never to get on your bad side.

[identity profile] manonmars.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Didn't think you did. I was under the impression that you can't die at all, so I wasn't too worried about the literalness, just the sentiment.

Good, I'm glad.

[identity profile] manonmars.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think sacrificing yourself for a little forgiveness if worth it. It's a bit worrying that someone would think so. If it's that hard to forgive, maybe it's not something that ought to be forgiven.

[identity profile] manonmars.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess it does. But I've seen you say you'll forgive but not forget. What's the difference? The anger's still rotting inside you, isn't it? You just push it aside and get on with the person like nothing's happened? That can't feel nice. I'd rather hold a grudge.

[identity profile] manonmars.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay okay. You're, what, five times my age? I'll trust that you know what you're doing.
