It is wrong to keep you there against your will. Those who seek sanctuary at such places should be protected, but from the way you speak it it your prison.

When I was mortal there were Christians and pagans coexisting but not so harmoniously and even then Christians did not like other Christians calling those among them heretics who did not practice their exact orthodox.

It is. I was put here because it will keep someone who is trying to get at me away. They say they're protecting me, yet they're holding me here. I know I would be in no danger if I was to be let free, but they won't listen to me.

I was a Christian too, but I believe now that you can believe in God and gods without subjugating yourself to some church governed and ran by men. It is hard to have much respect for ordinary men once you are turned. You become much stronger in ways and they seem different to you, or at least they do to me. There are a few who stand out, but most seem to me like animals did when I was human. And like animals there were a few who stood out, you could not or did not want to kill, but the rest---

Yes, Sir, I believe most mortals would find that view distorted as you say, but your age and experiences surely must lend to it. I can understand it to a degree, and I'm sorry to say that some mortals indeed do act like animals. They accuse your kind of doing so, but they never look at their own actions.

I know I have committed nameless atrocities and will probably commit more, but I have to live with that horror.

I wish I didn't need the blood or take satisfaction out of killing those I don't like.
