Four goddesses require a sacrifice, and I do not want to earn their wrath so soon!

I can't think of a goddess who doesn't like a party in her honor. Suppose I don't know enough though to make that call.

Very true.. And we shall make our sacrifice a proper Amazon celebration! But the preparations must be dealt with first.

And then tomorrow, or at least in a few days' time, there are negotiations to be dealt with. There's a village not terribly far away, and, well, I would prefer to go to them with an offer of peace before they come to us to see if we mean them harm.

Sounds like a plan to me. So which four goddesses? I assume Athena and Artemis are two?

Artemis, as our patron and protector, Athena, whose wisdom and strength also helps us thrive, Hestia, goddess of the home, and Hera, queen of the gods because every queen should honor her. ~~And you do not want to make Hera angry..~~

It should be a rather grand affair. If it weren't for the village and wanting to make the first move to extend our hand for friendship, the celebration would likely last for days.

Why not visit the village while the rest prepare for the party. I can't say I'd ever say anything against a girl's only party.

Hestia isn't one of our normal goddesses that we worship. And, of course, there will be a small offering to Hermes, since he's the patron of travelers, but that won't be part of our celebration, really..

I might... I must admit that I don't trust my women hunting alone. They'd do a good job, but a few are impressionable and.. well.. If I don't hunt with them, there's no way for me to make sure that Artemis truly gets the first animal they kill and that they don't just kill a rabbit first. Now that things are settling down.. I'm expecting to have my leadership challenged a bit more.

I think I'll take your advice and speak to the villagers first, perhaps while I set the women on making the altar. That way, there's no misunderstanding if they wander upon our celebrations. Amazon celebrations can get a bit.. fierce.. or seem it to outsiders.

Got to love rebellious women.

I've been curious about the Amazon ceremonies since all the secret rituals that my wife did before our wedding. I got no idea what went on and I hear I'm not supposed to know.

We have one on the equinox. Your whole family is welcome to come if they'd like.
