Maybe. My job isn't exactly difficult, though. I stand on a stage and sing for a few hours, that's all.

Permit it? Yeah, definitely. Some people make a helluva lot of money off it. I'm, of course, not one of those people, but it works for me.

Oh, we have minstrels and such but the practice is considered wasteful for the most part.
