*fucking hell, fucking hell -- there. She hears a shot and turns, running swiftly in the direction of the sound. She's slipping down the streets, her own revolver out and at the ready, cursing her brother and sister steadily to the hell and back for leaving without her.
She listens, and makes a quick change of direction, coming up behind them*
Lizzie -- down! *she shouts, aiming her revolver at one of the things -- what the fuck were they? -- that was coming up in her sister's left*
*She doesn't have to be told twice; in this business if someone tells you to get down, you get down and so she drops -- pulling Will with her. Hearing the shot from Cathy's revolver, she turns to look, still down*
*Doesn't really have much time to think about the order given as Lizzie grabs his jacket and pulls him down with her, which is both a relief and a bit counterproductive. As much as he is realizing that werewolves were scary arse motherfuckers and he maybe should have waited a few more months, he was here. And he didn't want to be babied. Of course, he didn't want to be dead either, so...*
*Cathy stops, aiming for the creature getting ready to leap for her sister. She has enough time to see that it is indeed the werewolves, and that someone there's a pack of them. More than the reports, which is cause for concern tht will come later. Right now there's nothing but the battle, and that clarity that she finds at the beginning of each one.
She squeezes off three rounds, two in the chest and a head shot, dropping the werewolf. It whines, slowly turning back into a human. Cathy pulls a second revolver out of its sheath on her thigh, picking shots at the pack as the snarl*
*Slowly gets to her feet, revolver still out and aimed on the pack as she backs up to join her sister. Yeah. She's not turning her back to the wolves no matter how many weapons they have trained on them*
*And Will is, of course, right behind her -- eyes transfixed on the bleeding human. He knew werewolves were humans. He wasn't stupid. But it seemed...it seemed wrong to end a life over what amounted to three nights a month. He can't stop staring, watching*
*Cathy reaches out, grabs Will's shoulder. He's with them, but not quite fully -- his eyes are on the body, and a part of her remembers that, marks it to be dealt with later. But right now it's not time. Right now it's time to make sure there is a later.*
Will -- how's your ammo? Lizzie, how many are there? The fuck is going on?
*there's still a path behind them, clear out of this mess -- but this is a pack like she's only hear about before, and that means trouble*
Six. No. Five now. *She can tell that Cathy's trying to figure out the best course of action and so decides to throw in her two cents* We can't run, they'll overtake us easily.
*They need backup, specifically...their father. Mum will do, but he's the one who will know what to do. But there's no time for that. By the time their parents arrived, it would be over...one way or another*
Good. Ammo's...we're good. *He allows himself a moment to look at Cathy and offer her a small smile before putting his attention back to the task at hand*
So what now...? *Surely this Mexican standoff couldn't last that long*
*the pack's stirring, growling now, and she shoves down any lingering horror as one of the wolves turnes from them to rip of chunk of flesh off the fallen pack-mate's calf. The others are gearing up for the charge, and she knows it can't be put off any longer. There's no way out of this except through it, at least not for her.*
Lizzie, my left, Will, my right. Well, loves -- *she raises her guns* Aim for the hearts. And if I tell you to run, you do it.
*with that, she takes a step forward, and starts shooting*
*Revolver at the ready, she begins firing -- aiming for the hearts of the two wolves closest to her, it takes a few rounds but she finally gets one and it drops to the ground. The other, turns to run as she quickly reloads -- taking off towards the woods. Fuck! Who knows if there's people in there, the woods of Hyde park a popular make out spot for decades. She can't let it go unpursued and so she takes off running*
*Not surprisingly, once the shooting comes into play, Will relaxes a bit. This part is easy, so long as he doesn't think too hard about what he's shooting. It also helps that he has a shotgun, big and able to do a lot of damage. He gets a lucky shot and the first wolf drops almost instantly -- reverting back to its human state. The other takes a bit longer and its not until it attempts to charge that Will is able to land one in the right spot*
*Fuck, fuck fuck fuck -- Will's managed to drop two, and she's got another one as it's twisting and lunging toward them. Lizzie's taken one out, but she's breaking rank as the last of Will's kill falls to the ground, taking off on foot after a werewolf into the trees.*
Lizzie! *she's shouting, turning to Will* Come on, don't let her out of your sight -- stay at my side no matter what you do. We can't let her get out of our sight, do you hear me, William?
*she takes off, reloading as she goes, screaming for her sister*
*She can hear her siblings behind her, but she can't stop -- if she stops, she loses sight of the wolf and then that's how many more dead that night? No. She has to keep going and hope they catch up.
Running through woods is tricky, but she's done it enough to know how to do it safely -- alternating between looking up to keep her target in sight and looking down to make sure she doesn't do something stupid like trip over a rock.
But the problem is going to come when they run out of woods. Hyde Park sits in the middle of London, like Central Park in New York. On the other side is more city. The question is...does she run him out or kill him before he gets there. She knows she'll be more solid on asphalt. But there's the risk of being seen.
*What the bloody fuck!? What kind of daft person takes off after the werewolf? Oh right...them. Well then. Taking a deep breath, he takes off after Cathy, thankful for all those years of footie -- turns out sprints are good for something*
*she moves through the woods easily, long practice attuning to moving through it as easily as her sister. Cathy hears Will behind her, and they catch up with Lizzie just as she breaks through into the streets, the surreal wilds-in-a-city ending all too abruptly, London surrounding them again*
Right. *Towards a more residential area -- both smart and not good. The wolf would be able to navigate the residential streets better, but it would also be able to hunt those streets better. They needed to put it down now*
*fucking hell, fucking hell -- there. She hears a shot and turns, running swiftly in the direction of the sound. She's slipping down the streets, her own revolver out and at the ready, cursing her brother and sister steadily to the hell and back for leaving without her.
