Long days lead to longer nights.

And eventually those nights lead into long days. It's a vicious cycle.

One that's getting to me about now. I demand night schools for teenagers and working parents, that's it.

I'd simply take more nights off to spend with my daughter and for her not to become a teenager if she can help it.

I'm taking as many as I can afford to. Being a single mom doesn't make it easy to be there all the time.

I save mine up for the summer, when I have temporary custody. It's never easy though.

I've got full. Had it before but her father was killed a while back so it's me, my mom and my daughter.

At least your mother is around to help. When I have Anna, my daughter, it's just me.

Oh man, that's got to be rough. Do you see her the rest of the year, or just the summer?

I get every other weekend the rest of the year. The summer is my big block of time.

And it's never the good kind of long night.

No, it's not. So far two active cases and a new one on my desk. Slow night but the ones I've got are bad.

That they can, and do. When you work the night shift though, being woken up hours early to deal with the past makes for a really cranky night.
