I didn't have one in mind actually, I was just looking for a little interaction. I read a lot of short stories and poetry, but I have quite a collection of longer works also. Do you have a favorite?
I'm the same. Reading is probably my favorite thing in the entire world; constantly I'm trying to become a better writer. Lately I've been going back to some things that I haven't read in a while, Poe for a little while. Also Dickens. I was re-reading Hemingway today, it's a nice change.
Nothing good, I've written a couple of short stories and I write poetry. Right now, I believe that I am lacking enough life experience to write something truly meaningful.
I couldn't pick a favorite, since my opinion would change within a matter of moments.
Oh, I like "On Time," if I'm placing the right author. "Also, Lycidas." I've read some others I believe however that first is my favorite by him I think.
"Nathless he so endured, till on the beach Of that inflamed sea, he stood and called His legions, angel forms, who lay entranced Thick as autumnal leaves that strow the brooks In Vallombrosa, where th' Etrurian shades High overarched embow'r;"
Yes, I've read a couple essays and have wanted to read more from him for some time. In fact I have been meaning to buy one of his books for a while now. Would you recomend one over the other? I'm between Cape Cod, and The Maine Woods.
Well, I suppose I'm something of a traditionalist, as I personally prefer Walden to his other works. Between the two of those, though, I believe The Maine Woods has more a sense of... adventure, you might say.
If I may suggest. Next time you reach that level of boredom again, try reading 'On the Road' by Jack Kerouac. It's something that will keep your brain going. *smiles*
I've read that actually. A long time ago, I believe. I don't think I appreciated it the way that I could now. I used to know someone who really liked it, one of the only books she said she'd bother with.

If I had to pick a favorite author, I'd have to say Ayn Rand.
