Well, good

No use having a life philosophy that doesn't apply to life

Although sitting around waiting for people to die

Not very proactive

Simply waiting to die goes against the very principles of life.

My father's lesson was that one is never above death, and there is no use being enraged when it comes. There is much that one can accomplish, but one should always remember that, when their time comes, they will die.

Suppose one wants to accomplish one grand gesture and get out while the getting is good

Be remembered as a savior

It would depend on whether the gesture was successful and how those who saw it interpreted it.

It is better to do an act for the act itself and not for how others will receive it. People are fickle creatures. One man's hero is another's villain, and one generation may praise a man while the next forgets him.
