I'm so tired of these nightmares.

Work usually. Depends on how creative my subconscious is feeling.

Mine're usually about family.

My family makes the occasional cameo.

I'm a Lieutenant with Chicago homicide.

Oh, wow. I can see where that could be nightmare inducing.

It's no picnic that's for sure.

That's funny, I actually had nightmare about a picnic the other day.

Did the basket attack you?

The blanket, actually.

Well, obviously you didn't use enough starch when you washed it. Use more next time and it shouldn't attack.

But the majority are from the Miller case.

It's a little more complicated than that, but yes, it revolves around that case.

My mama says they aren't real but they're still scary. Mine are about clowns.

Sometimes things that aren't real are scarier than real things. Mine are about monsters.

My daddy lives in Miami, I live in Chicago. He's keeping the monsters away down there.

It's okay. He visits me sometimes or I go visit him.

That's good, I guess.

I wouldn't like it if my daddy were far away.

I have friends who take care of me instead.

Friends are good!

My friends moved this year, but they write to me sometimes.

Friends are very good.

It's good to keep in touch.

Sometimes it's hard to read the letters, but I still like getting them.
