Why would you want to fade away?

It is. Though at times, one can be alone in a crowd. But this...being trapped between living and dead? It's terribly lonely. Very isolated.

Have you no family?

Is that where you are? No wonder I felt I could talk to you. I'm sure it is lonely. I've known others in that situation.

I have a father, but he and I are at odds right now. My husband is dead. There's nobody else in my family I'm close to anymore.

I've been bound to this one place for over forty years. It's quite solitary.

My family is dead, as well. The only one left is my brother. I am so sorry about your husband, and the discord with your father. My father was not around, so I can understand.
