You say that likes it's easy to disappoint a parent that's done everything for you. How can I tell her - Oh nono, Ma, my grades were fine but I just couldn't handle all the parties and the alchol and all?
I hate that look on her face and then the lecture that I'm just throwing away my life when I had a full scholarship.
If I didn't know any better, I'd say you didn't want to leave college. If you actually believed that you were doing the right thing you wouldn't feel guilty about it.
Thanks. You would think that I went and got a job and a place and all that would matter but she's worked so hard to get me outta home and into a better place and... I just couldn't handle it.
Hey, like, don't worry about it. I don't mind. I'm a good listener.
And the fact that you went and got a job and your own place and all is totally outstanding. You should be proud of that. You know, I went through college, and there were days I totally couldn't hack it. Some of my friends dropped out but they went back later, or found jobs, or other things they loved. It's not the end of the world.
But... I know that what we think isn't the end of the world sometimes so does not fall into our mothers' views of what's gonna bring the world to an end. So. Hang in there.
She worked so hard to keep me in the boarding school that let me go to American and my grades weren't even bad it was just so... busy. Loud even. I just couldn't handle it every day.
It happens. College is a totally big adjustment. It isn't just an academic change, it's, like, everything. A whole new environment. It's okay if it wasn't for you.

...Nice. So there was me oversharing. Awesome. Sorry.
Anyway. It'll be hard to tell her, but at the end of the day, you really do have to, like, do what's best for you.
