Except, of course, that the truly deserving don't seek it. The sit back and be utterly useless and then go huh what should I do with this when they're forced into power, thereby defeating the entire point of not forcing others to do things against their wishes.

Well, naturally.

I mean, how silly to think that to change the world, you must be active when all it takes is to sit back and wait.

He gave a snort, riled by the thought. More so than he should be, he knew. But he could not help it. His words were, at best, bitter. At worst, they were pure venom.

And, of course, this comes from a man who made plans to seek, to gain power. Those that dare not preach against, obviously.

God forbid, who is active? Why would one do that? Change? Effecting it? How dare one be so... so aggressive. Nono, life isn't about making change happen. It's about sitting around and praying it happens. Hope, not action will save the world.

She rolls her eyes, making a face.

Oh I'm certain I should never speak either. I have sought power in many forms and now? Now I wish to ensure people are saved by ensuring they have the power of the law and government to back them up. Surely I'm the antichrist.

Yes, power may well be abused, even unintentionally, but then it is up to those that are being abused to act. To reclaim their freedom, to assert themselves.

I would not leave us cowering from those we are more powerful than, just because it required pressure! One has to fight sometimes, for the things that one believes in!

He is, apparently, in full blown rant mode.

Even he has to act, and he knows that. He gave a short, triumphant laugh. He knows he has to "stop" me, and I am making him come to me. I am making him strike first. He decided against standing beside me, so he must stand against me. And he will come to me. I will not go to him.

It puts you in a position of power, and that may well be what his problem is. He knows he's there, has no choice, and yet how do you answer that? Do you willing go, knowing you're being pushed into that position? Or does he try and play reverse psychology, like what is right is to sit back and do nothing?

The wonderful thing is that I know he will come. His sense of "virtue" is too high, and he believes people are "suffering" under me.

Thus, he will be compelled to act eventually. Meanwhile, I will go about solidifying my power. He knows where to find me, and he knows I'm waiting.

If they were truly deserving, they wouldn't seek it.
