He fell silent, knowing where Deans logic came from in and in the scheme of things Castiel knew heaven agreed. However Castiel simply... could not. He could not agree to such a horrible task, there was no way his father would allow such a thing. The bag was dropped at his feet and the angel looked up to Dean, his head tilted and his eyes curious. He closed his eyes briefly, taking in a breath before he stepped in closer to the blond and placed and hand on the back of Deans neck, pulling his close so that their foreheads were touching. So Dean could feel the love and warmth Cas felt for him radiate off his skin.
You are worth far more than you ever give yourself credit for, Dean Winchester.
He didn't fight getting pulled closer to the angel, he just allowed the feelings that Castiel was giving off to wash over him. Reassurance. It was one of the things he missed while the angel was away. He didn't exactly want to say that he was feeling that he was at the end of his rope but he really was. At least if he said yes to Michael the present Deans would be unaffected by the loss.
Usually takes a while for me to get in with the big picture, Cas. I usually need diagrams and...I missed you. And people just have to explain it to me a lot.
Self inflicted punishment. It was something all the Deans placed upon themselves, but none more so then Dean from the future. He had much to be sorry for, but Castiel forgave him still. Knowing deep in the mans heart he was the same Dean, and he was a good man. Castiel did not mind being the reassurance Dean needed, it pleased him to aid the man in some way. He knew Dean was at his wits end, and so Cas offered himself in which way he could. His touches were soft and reassuring, his fingers brushing over the hunters jaw as he looked up to Deans green eyes. Castiel felt like he knew every freckle that graced Deans features perfectly.
The hunter didn't count on the fact that this was something he'd inevitably feel as though he needed. Support. Reassurance. The fact he now had someone to lean onto when he needed it. He wouldn't admit to needing someone like that but for the most part. Castiel was the only one he trusted enough to even allow remotely close to him as he sighed softly and leaned his head against his again.
He didn't help the smile that tugged at his lips before taking in a deep, relieved breath in. "So...where did you disappear too anyway?"
Support. Reassurance. It was something everyone needed, so Dean should have felt no shame in the need of such affections. It was something that Dean required, but would not admit. Luckily Castiel seemed to be a master at interpreting just what it was that the hunter required and could give such relief with out ruining his sparkling reputation. It was the perfect balance for Deans life even if he did not realize it. When the hunter leaned against Cas once again the angel let out a content sigh as his eyes remained attached to deans.
"I had work to finish, research. For our battle." He replied softly as his fingers drifted down from the hunters jaw along the line of his neck.
It was a saving grace, more or less, than Castiel could interpret how he felt otherwise they'd never be able to get along. Fortunately, Dean probably trusted Castiel more than he'd trust himself or his brother. He trusted Castiel much more than anyone because in the future? Castiel was all he had left outside himself and he knew that more than anything, he would be the person that would essentially die for him. That died because of him. He hadn't known if it was something that he could ever get over. But he was trying because he had too. If he didn't he wouldn't be able t live with himself. He already had a difficult time looking at himself in the mirror.
The hunter sighed heavily when Cas's fingers ran along his neck, slowly drifting his eyes shut as his body visibly relaxed. "Oh. I...get that." He chuckled softly before pressing his lips against the angel's with a relaxed look coming across his face. "Next time drop a line or something. I was...um...worried."
Dean had forgotten that Castiel already did die for him. Once. With Raphael. The memory of such a painful death still haunted him however it needed to be done. He was happy to, to die for Dean because he cared for him. Even if it was not this Dean... Even with everything this Dean had done in his future. Castiel would die for him, time and time again.
The kiss was welcomed, Cas lips twitching against Deans as he brushed his hand over the pit of the hunters neck. Tipped his head back, tilting his head as he looked up to the future hunter. "...I am sorry, Dean. I did not mean to worry you."
He didn't want to think about that because acknowledging it just meant that he was opening himself to lose the angel again. The capability of having that thought plague his mind was something he didn't want to entertain. Truth was, even back than he was afraid. He was afraid that he'd have to fight the war without his best friend back then. Something he'd honestly never admit to the angel that he considered him his best friend in the beginning. Now he wasn't so sure what he considered him.
He took in a deep breath as his fingers twitched before he looped his arms around the angel before grinning a bit. "Are you...you're going to move back to your room?" Dean had resorted to hugging a pillow and dealing with his nightmares possibly the worst way he knew how. It only seemed as if they'd gotten worse while Castiel was away but that didn't seem to make up for the fact that he still had them. He still screamed at night because of them and this time no one was coming to save him.
It was confusion upon both sides. When this had all began Dean was Castiels ward, the one Cas was ordered to raise from hell and protect. But now, in being with Dean their relationship became so much more. And even more so for the future Dean because he had actually extended out a hand to the angel, showed that he cared. And for that Castiel was grateful.
"Move back in to my room?" Cas asked, coking his head to the side as he looked up to Dean. "...Do you wish me to?"
Dean hadn't realized that he'd started being Castiel's ward again. It'd been years since Castiel was even considered someone who could protect him and he just kept the future version of him around because of loyalty. Because he needed him right there with him even in the future because only having strangers around got tiring to him. The future version of the hunter was well acquainted with the craziness of their future.
"N-No..." He didn't want Cas to leave him. He knew it'd just get worse on him as he kissed his cheek. "I want you to stay here. With me."
Castiel closed an eye when Dean kissed his cheek. He looked up to the hunter and gave that hint of his almost smile as he tilted his head, his eyes seeming to shine in the light. His expression was gentle, just as were his touches to Dean as he rested his hand over the hunters heart.
"Then I shall stay, by your side. As long as you wish me to."

He hung his head a bit before shrugging a bit.
I'm sorry, Castiel.
He runs his hand through his hair before just giving a small grin.

Castiels head snapped up, looking quite angry for once as he looked up at the taller hunter with fierce blue eyes.
I will never forgive you if you do. It isn't the way. It would destroy you.

He shuffles his feet for a moment before walking over to where his duffle bag was and setting it at angel's feet.
I won't. Not for me though. For you. I won't for you.
