In Japanese mythology a shinigami is a death-god, there are a lot of different legends about them. But, as it turns out, they're more than just legends.

Good. Back before every movie was just a Hot Topic merchandise commercial and/or excuse to jerk Johnny Depp off. Stitches, fangs, torn wings, skeletal claws, all just sort of thrown together. And they're all huge fuckers.

The one I knew personally was an idiot. Would do anything if you threatened him or gave him a piece of chocolate. Sidoh's his name. Although the gender thing doesn't real make sense, they don't reproduce, they don't even have genitalia.

That's funny you should say that. It's the Shinigami's eyes that make it special. Their weapon, the way they kill, can be used by a normal human. All you need is the name and face of your victim and you can do it.

But the trick, how Shinigami can kill anyone, is that when they look at anyone they can see their name and when they're supposed to die.

Literally the ability to see death.
