Yeah, but love requires knowing a person. Wanting them even though you know they've got a temper or have problems trusting you or don't know how to say what they feel. You can't love someone unless you know them, good and bad.

He did want me to know him -

But I knew just about everything about him before we even met. Because I talked to people. I didn't talk to him, but people I knew? Knew people.

There's such a thing as "second hand information." Then you evaluate the source, decide how credible it is.

It's not just "Oh, I don't talk to him, so I'll just wander around totally clueless, tee-hee."

Sometimes love isn't about that, sometimes it's just about a moment when two people connect, and if you think differently it's not a reason to be rude.

Lust is a moment when two people connect. Love actually requires true bonding.
