Because I like the name Dean more than I do the name Nicolas. And I seriously despise people who know my first name getting all cute and deciding to call me Nicky. Only one person is allowed to call me that.
Sometimes that happens. Doesn't matter. You stop fighting, and you die. Or someone else dies. Some people are just born to fight. And that's what they do. 'Till they bleed or they die or they just don't know what they believe in anymore.
But they keep going, because they're all the world has to hope for.
How do you know you're dying or that you have less than a year left? Is it like cancer or something? Can you really not be saved?
I'll bet it does get tiring.
And just so you know, I've given up before. I've stopped. I've let go. Life has a funny way of kicking your ass back into gear. Just in case you ever need to breathe.
Because she told me I had less than a year to live. And when that year is up she's coming to collect. That's how I know. As for whether I can be saved or not... I'm not sure. My baby brother is working on that.
Who is she? Some kind of witch? A demon? If that's the case, if it's some soul-collecting witch or demon, that's the kind of thing I kill. At the very least, maybe I could do a little research for you?
I've got my geekboy who does research for me. And I've been fighting and killing demons since I was four. Thanks for the offer though. And see... she can't be taken out. She is then my baby brother drops dead on the spot. I won't let that happen. I gave up my life for his.
I understand that completely. I gave my life for my sister's once. Took a dive into an electrical field/dimensional portal. Was dead for months. Luckily my friends brought me back. But I'd still do it a thousand times over again for her just to keep her here.
My brother died... I made a deal with a demon and she gave me a year to live. Told me that if I tried to save myself... interfere... whatever that he'd just drop dead. So he's the research guy. The one trying to figure all this stuff out.

But it doesn't mean I'll stop fighting because I won't.
