But you're safe from that too. 'Cause Chai's fixed, and really, if something like that happens again, I'm not going to stand by. I've seen how bad it can get. Doc might not like the idea of me fighting, but I don't want anyone else having to grow up like I did.
No, the Doctor doesn't ever want anyone to fight or get hurt, but we have to do it anyway.
[Her mind drifted absently to what the creator of the Daleks had said about that, that the Doctor created soldiers out of his companions. She still wasn't sure how she felt about that.]
At least we have a purpose to do so though. I mean really... if you hadn't met him would you be doing what you do now helping so many people as you do? Really not sure how I'd be able to do what you and Jack do. I know music, but that's not that helpful, unless it's a distraction. Here I can lull people into a small state of hypnosis, but I don't think it would be enough to stop anything.
They use it often for people who are very ill. Usually for those who are going to pass away. All it is is a musical therapist comes in to a patient and sings to them, or plays an instrument, or uses music in some way to calm them down. In some special cases, it's helped pull patients out of a coma. In others, it helps them die peacefully. It's an incredibly powerful tool.
[Martha shrugged.] It would require some college education, I think, but other than that I'm not entirely sure. I could ask around for you, if you like.
*And here's a snicker from Mira* I won't tell if you don't. TARDIS promised I wouldn't get left behind yet, and... I've kind of been sneaking out at night, never that far, but... I like watching the stars.
oops, replace "apartment" with "hotel" in my last comment
Yes we will, I probably can with a private concert for them. They love it when I sing, even if after a while my throat hurts. *She grinned.* I don't mind though, beats staying quiet.

And here I was just going to see about playing gigs if I left the Doctor's side... you think it would be hard to become a therapist?

Oh, I wasn't supposed to say that, was I? [She'd been sneaking in at night some times, just to be sure she wasn't left behind.]
