[She laughs lightly.] I sure hope so. It's easy to forget to stop and smell the roses while working for Tony.

This Tony sounds like a slave driver.

Not really. He just keeps me busy. He entrusts me with quite a few responsibilites, so I sometimes have to rush a bit.

I'm not saying he's the most congenial and thoughtful people on the planet, because, well, he's not. He's just a very complex person.

Why do you work for him then...do you enjoy it?

He has his good moments. And he-... [She stops. Tony's a jerk, he's cynical, he's mean at times, he's a womanizer and boozehound, he puts the people around him through hell and back...

She can't really find a good example or any good reasons why she should stay at her current job.

Well, maybe one.]

Tony has very few people in the world he can trust. Three, tops. Pepper, Rhodey, and, well, me. We're all a team, the four of us. Without eachother, we'd probably all fall apart, slowly, but surely.

[Gabriel smiles and nods]

If by good reason you mean easy to guilt trip me with, then yes. [She laughs, making light of it. But that really was the main reason why she stayed. She doesn't really have anyone either, at least in this part of the states.]

{Gabriel cocks his head in a gentle way]

No, not you doing the guilt tripping. Tony. When he wants me to do something I less than want to participate in, he'll pull out the "oh, boo hoo; I only have you three in THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD" card.

You do not have to take that you know.

I-I know. But I can be an emotional roller coaster at times. One minute I'm firm in the belief that no way no how I'm going to chauffuer Tony's digbat ladyfriends around, and then he pulls that card, and I do it anyway.

You deserve better then that you know.

It's alright. Even if Tony uses it to guilt trip me, he's right. And right now, I don't really have anyone else either.

No family you can go too?

[Family is a tricky subject with her. She doesn't really like talking about her siblings, much less her father. She'll just tell him about her "birth" parents, not her biological one.]

No... My parents are dead, and my older brother and younger sister live in England. I'm the only American in our family. And I happen to like it here much better than England. [Mostly because DELILAH is stationed in England; and Father is the head of DELILAH.]

Yes... there's a lot more. And I don't really want to even acknowledge it too much. Thank you for being understanding.

You don't get as old as I without learning a few things about people.

Yes I have. And bits of it have been worth it.
