Well... here ::pulls out his iPod where he has all of the band's music, not that he listens to his own music, he just needs to have it:: Listen to this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s58W6Q_rz5Y). I have some stuff I did with my solo project that's very different.

Blimey, that's a lot of songs on such a tiny thing! Compression is awesome! Oh, hang on, I kind of talked over the first one! ::listens, nodding along for a bit, then skips tracks, listening to bits here and there:: Um, no offence to your brothers or anything, because that's pretty good too, but I like your solo stuff better!

Yeah, my individual musical influences are different from the band as a group so I did this as a side project just to get it out there.

That's cool! Do you brothers have solo projects too?

No, they don't. Joe is starting to write some of his own stuff but we're too busy for him to really do much with them. I don't know if he wants to do them as a side project or if he's just writing them for himself though

How come you're too busy for his stuff and not your stuff?

I did my stuff earlier this year. I started recording a while ago, released the album back in February and then did my tour. Now we're on tour as a band and doing a lot of promo stuff. It's pretty hectic.

Oh, you're on tour right now? Blimey, you don't have to play a gig on your birthday, do you? Or, well, hmm, actually, now I think about it, you'd probably enjoy that, huh? 'cause it's what you do!

Actually, I do. But you're right, I will enjoy it. I love playing shows on my birthday, I get to celebrate with my fans and I just love playing shows.

Are they big shows? Like, hundreds of people? Thousands even? Do they all sing happy birthday?

The size of the shows vary but the average size of the shows we've been doing this tour are between ten to twenty thousand people. Yeah, they always sing happy birthday. We do it during any of our birthdays, anyone in our back up band or in our family and usually bring the person out and bring out a cake and everything. We celebrate a lot of things on stage with our fans. Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations... Anything big that happens in our lives, we like to share with the fans basically.

Blimey, you are famous! Wow! That can't leave much room for privacy, though!

::chuckles and shrugs:: Yeah, pretty much. No, no room for privacy at all really. That can get frustrating

It's lucky you have those security people, really! Sort of like a bubble to breathe in for a bit!

We're all very grateful for our security team. My brother and I have been stealing more and more private time lately too so that's been great.

I thought you had two brothers? Or, well, at least two, because you only mentioned there was more than one of them!

I have three brothers but two of them are in the band with me. My oldest brother Kevin is married so he spends most of his free time with his wife and Joe and I are pretty much always together.

Ohhh! I didn't think they'd be old enough to be married! Although you're eighteen and you are, so I'm not sure why I'm surprised really! But that's cool! I have an older brother too, Colin! It's fun to hang out together -- I mean, like, friends are cool, but family is family, you know?

Well Kevin's turning 23 and Joe's 21. A lot of people say Kevin got married really young but I don't think so. When you're in love, you're in love.
