*perched somewhere high, watching people pass*

[She beams up at her and then sits on the sidewalk below her perch, turning to watch people as well.]

*well if she's going to sit there she may as well have company, so the cat climbs down and sits beside her*

Ah! Hallo, again. [Ember smiles delightedly and extends her fingers.] You are waiting for someone, maybe? May I pet you? I know cats do not speak, but I like to ask.

*she can answer the second question at least, and does so by putting her head against the woman's hand. The first is complicated*

Thank you, cat. [She strokes the top of her head, smiling.] What a pretty creature you are. I wonder if you have a name.

. . . well. I am sure you have a name. Everything does, yes? Even things that don't speak. Like cats.

*she lifts her head a little, showing an ID tag with the name Gina Warren on it. The collar it's hanging from is thin and loose so it could easily slip over her head*

[She takes the tag in her fingertips for a moment, reading, and then makes a delighted sound.] Gina Warren. Is very pretty name, for very pretty cat. I am pleased to meet you, Gina Warren. My name is Ember. With an E.

*Gina sits still while she reads, and returns the greeting by rubbing her cheek along Ember's hand*

[And Ember responds with further petting, happy to have some company.]

*and the inevitable purring begins. Gina is always happy to spend time with people, even if it's in this form*
